Liverpool City Council, in partnership with London Electric Vehicle Company, have created a “try before you buy” scheme for those taxi drivers who are wishing to purchase a new electric Hackney Carriage but would like to test drive one for 2 weeks first before they commit to a purchase. The scheme has been a success with many drivers taking up the opportunity and then purchasing a new electric taxi.

These new vehicles produce significantly less pollution than the old diesel taxis and will contribute to the Councils ongoing commitment to reduce air pollution in the city.
