More hybrid cars added to Council’s fleet to drive down emissions

Liverpool City Council are trialling an alternative in-house SEN transport operating model to improve services following the reduction of taxis operating in the city as a result of Covid. The council has hired five hybrid cars to transport vulnerable pupils to school across the Liverpool city region.

The new Toyota Yaris vehicles will sport the Let’s Clear the Air livery and demonstrate the Council’s commitment to use low-emission vehicles in its fleet wherever possible.  The hybrid cars offer a fuel efficient mode of transport to the service.. . An assessment on the viability of the scheme will be conducted in July 2022.
