Clean Air Plan Traffic Study Starts Next Week

On Sunday 5 February,  Liverpool City Council will be installing Automatic Number Plate Recognition cameras in eight locations to collect information on the general type, fuel and age of vehicles being driven in the city. The cameras will be in place for one week and the statistics they produce will be used to determine the amount of air pollution that is being caused by different categories of vehicles and what action needs to be taken to reduce the emissions as part of the Liverpool Clean Air Plan.

The cameras are not part of a Charging Clean Air Zone and the Council has no plans to charge any vehicles to enter any part of the city.
